Collaborative Effort

My last drawing class of the semester ended yesterday. We did a collaborative drawing where my professor gridded and cut up an amazing painting by Tiepolo- a detail from Moses Saved from the Nile. He gave us each two little squares to draw from the gridded photocopy and this is what happened when he put it all together...

It is huge- about 8 ft by 4ft or so.
The original painting is below. I would love to do a drawing like this, maybe over the summer or next fall, one square a day for a month or so and create a huge black and white mural from charcol. From a favorite Ansel Adams photo, or maybe from a painting of my own.
